【摘要】:Penetrationresistanceisanimportantend-useperformanceofthinflexiblematerialswhereasharp-edgedproductcandestroytheintegrityofabarrierwrap.Thiswillpermitpackageentry/exitofgases,odors,andunwantedcontaminates,causingpotentialharmtotheproductandreducingshelf-life.Materialresponsetopenetrationwillvarywithnumerousfactors,suchasfilmthickness,elasticmodulus,rateofpenetration,temperature,shapeandtypeofprobe.Consequently,materialresponsesfrompuncturetostretchmaybeobservedandquantifiedusingthismethod.Althoughnumerouscombinationsofexperimentalfactorscanbedevisedandusedtosimulatespecificend-useapplications,therecommendedconditionsinthismethodshouldbefollowedforstandardcomparisonsofmaterials.1.1Thistestmethodpermitsflexiblebarrierfilmsandlaminatestobecharacterizedforslowratepenetrationresistancetoadrivenprobe.Thetestisperformedatroomtemperature,byapplyingabiaxialstressatasingletestvelocityonthematerialuntilperforationoccurs.Theforce,energy,andelongationtoperforationaredetermined.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
