Title:Earth Moving Machinery - Laboratory Tests for Performance Requirements for Operator Protective Guards for Demolition Applications

Scope: This international standard establishes a consistent, repeatable test procedure and performance requirements for evaluating operator-protective guarding structures for demolition applications where demolition debris could reasonably be expected to intrude into the operators environment and present a flying object or crushing hazard. Such guards are intended to provide earth-moving machinery operators with reasonable protection again objects (e.g. rocks and debris) which would otherwise penetrate the operators station from the top, front, side or rear. Demolition applications include the breaking of rocks, concrete, and other materials either on the ground or on a vertical wall; building removal and teardown; removal of roads and bridges; and land clearing. This standard is applicable to backhoe loader, excavator, loader and tractor dozer as defined in ISO 6165. But it is not intended to define the specific guarding structures for each demolition application.
